how can you fade brown semi-permanent hair dye to a red copper color fast?

i don’t want it to fade back to my natural color (blonde) but I want it a reddish copper pretty color. how do i do this?

ha ha ha — that is too funny! You can’t.

In order for something to fade into another shade, you need to have both shades in there in the first place, AND you need to remove the one you don’t want. It doesn’t happen that way. When it fades, it all just gets less…. not always into a nicer shade, but less.

The semi-permanent colour will fade in a few weeks anyway. If it is a dye (not all are dyes), it will never disappear, but most of it will. A stain will always remain on the hair.

What you need to do is wait until most of this brown is gone, and then use a copper semi- later on. Brown does not have the gold/orange/red that you would like… so you need to add it. But you can’t use it now, because the brown will interfere and make it look too dark, or give you an off shade. Just wait… and follow all the rules. You might try using some oil products on the hair, such as oil conditioners, or hot oil treatments, and it may lift some of the semi- faster. But usually, it just takes time. Be patient.
